Abstract

A mathematical model is proposed for calculating the content of intracellular components in individual cells, in the course of the cell cycle in which the principle of reversed problems is used. It is shown that the model proposed allows one to calculate from the parameters taken from the culture (optical density, content of glutathione and total sulphydryl groups in a synchronized E. coli cell population) the changes in the corresponding parameters of one cell with its age. It is concluded that the proposed method is applicable to synchronous and asynchronous cell cultures.
