Abstract

The principle of Van der Meulen procedure was used for correction of 14 hypospadias cripples. The advantages and drawbacks are discussed. Follow-up ranged from one to five years. None of our patients needed a second intervention. Only one complication (urine leakage) occurred, which could be treated by application of Histoacryl® glue at regular intervals and slight compression during voiding.
