Abstract
In this chapter, the authors presented two interventions within health care settings using art therapy and guided imagery with accident-induced acute stress disorder (ASD). These cases both utilize images and are then compared. The analysis points to the importance of interactive shifts from physical to cognitive interventions that use images in both art therapy and guided imagery. The authors discussed differences between artwork and guided imagery, and their implications in health care with accident survivors. The aim in this chapter is to examine these interventions comparatively, so as to learn more about the use of images in treating patients within health care settings and providing focused interventions to ease their symptoms.
