title = "Utilizing Fenyeng 1C (FY-1C) to monitor ocean colour and water quality: A demonstration experiment in the eastern Mediterranean",
abstract = "Results from the use of the Chinese Fenyeng 1C (FY-1C) multispectral sensor to map chlorophyll (Chl)-a concentration in the Southeastern Mediterranean Sea are presented. Estimated Chl-a concentrations were strongly correlated with sea data (R2=0.76 . Currently, the FY-1C calibration factors are being assessed which may enable an increase in the correlation between the Chl-a concentration and the spectral response measured in the future.",

note = "Funding Information: This research was conducted under a Strategic Infrastructure grant (#01-10-00053) provided by the Israel Ministry of Science, Arts, and Sports through the Israel Space Agency (ISA). The authors wish to thank Mr Guobin Zhu for his assistance with the reading of documentation regarding the FY-1C sensor and with software development. We also thank Roni Livnon for producing the figures. The work of Y.L. was partially supported by a scholarship from the Admiral Yohai Ben-Nun foundation for Marine and Fresh Water Research.",
