Abstract

Results from the use of the Chinese Fenyeng 1C (FY-1C) multispectral sensor to map chlorophyll (Chl)-a concentration in the Southeastern Mediterranean Sea are presented. Estimated Chl-a concentrations were strongly correlated with sea data (R2=0.76 . Currently, the FY-1C calibration factors are being assessed which may enable an increase in the correlation between the Chl-a concentration and the spectral response measured in the future.
