Abstract

In 1974, Taitel and Tamir presented a fully predictive model for the filmwise condensation of multicomponent mixtures. In the present work the predictions of the theoretical model were successfully verified. This was achieved by condensing several binary mixtures (acetone-methanol, acetone-ethanol, methanol-ethanol) and a ternary mixture (acetone-methanol-ethanol) onto a cooled vertical wall.
