    Abstract

Pulse-wave ultrasonic modulation [1] of scattcrecl lascr lighl in turbid media has been used to mark the ohservecl volume up to the depth of several cm. This technique, called Ullrasound Tagging of Light [2], is applied for reflected light in vitro to investigate, espccially vvith the a i m to measure non invasively the hemoglobin concentration, oxygen Saturation in blood etc. in large blood vessels (e.g. A. carotis interna, V. lugulans interna, A. pulmonalis).
