Abstract
We examine the possibility that the Fritzsch prediction <Vub/Vcb-<mu/mc1/20.6, which at first seemed to be too small to agree with the ARGUS limit (0.07), might in fact be too large, given the nonobservation of charmless B decays by the CLEO Collaboration. We discuss an up-down asymmetric Fritzsch variant, characterized by Vub/Vcb=(mdms2/mb3)1/2/Vcb 0.2.
