Abstract

The widths of nine energy levels in 11B at 2.125, 4.445, 5.021, 6.743, 6.793, 7.286, 7.978, 8.559, and 8.920 MeV were determined by carrying out self-absorption and photon scattering measurements. The temperature variation of the scattering cross section was measured at T=298 K and T=730 K to study in some detail the effective temperature Te of 11B in B4C, BN, and elemental B. The influence of Te on the deduced values of the radiative widths of B11 is discussed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 11B(ϒ,ϒ'), E=10.3 MeV bremsstrahlung. Deduced 0, effective temperatures. BN, B4C, B natural targets.
