Abstract

The widths of nine energy levels in ¹¹B at 2.125, 4.445, 5.021, 6.743, 6.793, 7.286, 7.978, 8.559, and 8.920 MeV were determined by carrying out self-absorption and photon scattering measurements. The temperature variation of the scattering cross section was measured at T=298 K and T=730 K to study in some detail the effective temperature Te of ¹¹B in B₄C, BN, and elemental B. The influence of Te on the deduced values of the radiative widths of B11 is discussed.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹¹B(ϒ,ϒ'), E=10.3 MeV bremsstrahlung. Deduced 0, effective temperatures. BN, B₄C, B natural targets.
