Abstract
With the advance of globalization to the forefront of social scientific writing, transnational aspects of contemporary as well as early women's movements have attracted the attention of an increasing number of scholars from a variety of disciplines. It has become clear that the history of ties and connections among groups and individuals from various regions of the world – women especially, in our case – constitutes an important element in the history of globalization, contributing further to the growing interconnectedness of the world.
